"people put themselves in situations that they could easily get out of but don't, and when bad things happen to them, it's their own fault."

.... you can say this about GENOCIDE? Are you fucking serious?

I.... I haven't felt this angry in a long, long time.

  1. WHAT THE--

I can only guess who said this. And I'm kind of dumbfounded, actually. (I might have thought it would have been some conservative pundit, but I was a creeper and google searched the quote and nothing popped up, thus making me think it is ____).

If people are so highly educated after x years of school, then how do they still come to conclusions such as this? I don't understand--and in relation to GENOCIDE?

I'm at a loss on how to respond.

  2. I don't know who said this but they definitely need to get bitch slapped. That's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard!

It's like saying the Jews deserved the Holocaust because they couldn't get out of persecution, because they couldn't run faster than the bullets coming at them when they did try to get away. Okay.

  3. It isn't anyone you know. Friend of a friend on Facebook. This friend and I were having a serious discussion about it, and this douche comments with this, along with other ignorant comments. When I said, "I... I have no words," his response was this:

"well, it's good you have no words. because no words are needed to refute the truth"

He makes me want to die.

  4. I am so glad I don't know this person. So glad. but... my god.

I can't even come up with anything to say and it's still after a while. It's just like--why would you really--why are there people like this in a country that's supposed to be educated or something, where news is not blocked off and where people have the opportunity to actively learn...

  5. There are a few reasons I'm aware of, and perhaps more:

Some people avoid news such as this, because it's "depressing." Oh, well, okay, by all means. >_>

Some people think that caring doesn't make a difference, so there's no point. I think there's some truth to that, but not much. Caring, and spreading the word, could make every difference in the world. What if someone spreads the word to someone who spreads the word to someone who knows exactly what to do? That's just the way things work in this world. I'm no optimist, but I think there's always reason for hope... even if it's just a little.
